A Common Thread’s peter pan collar necklace was featured on Ain’t No Mom Jeans! Shana and Molly are two of the funnest and funniest people ever. Also, they are adorable, sweet and have the best fashion advice. Even though I’m not a mom myself, I feel like I can relate to a lot of their advice and opinions. They make parenting look really fun, and give me hope that you can have fashion + mom-hood all at the same time. I was really excited when Shana and Molly wanted to collaborate, and featured the peter pan collar necklace. While I admit when I was designing this piece, I wasn’t thinking about the practical use of designing jewelry for a mom, it does fit the bill. The piece is made of a thick fishtail chain with double interlocking links, making it super strong for those little ones with grabby hands. The necklace is very minimal, so you don’t feel like you’re trying to hard, but at the same time it is pretty unique. And, it happens that my goal with jewelry really is the same goal I think a lot of moms have: making minimal pieces that you can throw on while you’re walking out the door and know it’s just going to work.
